The Evanston North Shore Community (ENSC) Choir, not for profit organization, consists of adult singers from various churches throughout the North Shore community who celebrates music through the rich tradition of African American religious music.

The organization is led by Founder and President, Wendy Weaver and by Music Directors, Andrew Jamieson and Frank Watkins. The choir's musical repertoire ranges from spirituals to contemporary gospel tunes that are uplifting and inspirational to its listeners.

ENSC is a music ministry that helps, its mission and purpose is to take an inspirational message to the streets and reach out to those in need. Since its inception, March 2005, the choir members have maintained their commitment to 12 hours of community service. ENSC has sponsored Annual Back to School Events in the West Evanston Community giving away book bags stuffed with school supplies and personal care packages to more than 120 youth in the community; in addition they have fellowshipped and served Senior Citizens at a Senior Living facility, given hats, scarves and gloves to the youth during their Christmas Musicals. For the past two years, ENSC has selected a church in the Evanston Community that they bless financially with a Benefit Concert; all proceeds raised from the concert are donated to the Pastor and Church, the most recent recipients were Friendship Baptist Church and Hemenway United Methodist Church of Evanston, IL.

ENSC has also performed back up singing for Chicago Gospel Artists Calvin Bridges and Albertina Walker. They have performed in many musical and benefit concerts; on September 10, 2005; ENSC electrified a crowd of more than 450 at the Music Institute of Chicago Benefit Concert for survivors of Hurricane Katrina; participated in a benefit concert for Gift of Hope (Evanston Northshore Chapter) of which one of our members is an organ donor as well as President. ENSC has performed at Evanston First Night, Custer Street Fair, City of Evanston Back to School Event and many more venues in the Chicago land area.

ENSC is always looking for new members to join who are interested in serving the community and aspire to praise, worship and glorify God through songs.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. Colossians 3:16
