Mission Statement
The Evanston
North Shore Community (ENSC) Mass Choir are adults throughout the North shore Community who aspire to praise, worship
and glorify God through songs, bringing people closer to Christ.
Board Members’ Responsibilities Membership - A board member is a Christ-centered resident that is involved in the Evanston North Shore community,
participating in all aspects of board membership. Volunteer - A board member may be asked to serve on a committee
or to help as a volunteer with certain organizational tasks. |
Financial- A board member
is financially responsible to help assure the long term expansion and growth of the organization, participates in budgeting,
and evaluates financial performance.

Legal - A
board member is legally responsible to see that the organization serves its mission and that legal responsibilities are fulfilled.

Raise Funds - A board member participates in the ongoing cultivation
of community support; actively participates in fund raising.

Participation - A
board member attends monthly board meetings. If unable to attend, the board member should notify the secretary in advance
and then review the minutes of the missed meeting. A board member should attend as many engagements as possible.

President - shall call and preside over monthly meetings and may call special meetings as necessary. The president shall also
appoint ad hoc committees as needed (see Committees) and shall communicate essential information to board and choir members.
The president shall work with the treasurer preparing the annual budget. The president shall also sign, execute, and approve
all contracts and other materials authorized by the board. The president may designate another Executive Board member to sign
or approve contracts authorized by the Board. Vice-President-shall fulfill the duties of the president in her absence.
The vice president is responsible for tracking membership and annual membership dues. Secretary - shall take minutes of all meetings and distribute copies to
board members prior to the next meeting. The secretary shall maintain all mailing lists (e.g. choir and board members, donations,
publicity, etc.). The secretary shall manage choir correspondence as directed by the president. The secretary will also update
and maintain the term status of each board member and officer. Treasurer - shall work with the president to maintain accurate financial records, receive all income of
the choir, make bank deposits, and maintain investments. The treasurer will present to the board a monthly report comparing
actual receipts and expenditures to budget categories. |

Committee Members’ Responsibilities
Music Director - shall be responsible for the musical quality and artistic level
of both rehearsals and concerts and shall promote excellence in the performance of the choir. Music Director shall choose
selections for engagements and concerts. The Music Director along with the Board is responsible for selecting support musicians,
as needed.
Pastoral Advisor - give spiritual direction and guidance to choir members and
the Board of Directors. Promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ wherever, whenever and however
he/she can.
Board
Advisor and Web Master – responsible
for updating and maintaining the web site and email address. Work closely with the Board of Director to handle the business
matters of the choir as outlined in Board Members Responsibilities.
Event Coordinator
– work closely with the music director and president to plan events and book engagements. Acknowledge all requests for
engagements in writing. Must follow up with all parties for stage set up and choir accommodations for every engagement.
Community Service Coordinator – Responsible for tracking choir members 12 hours per year
community service time and provide bi-monthly reports of time completed. Identify agencies, family, youth, etc. to recommend
to the board as candidate(s) to receive funds. Work as the triage for the candidate and choir to ensure appropriate communication.
Publicity Coordinator – Responsible for advertising engagements, musicals or concerts, will contact local
newspaper, radio, TV and churches to advertise. Coordinate the distribution of flyers, poster, etc in the community. Assume
the duties of Event coordinator in his or her absence.
Chaplain – Lead the Praise and Worship, opening and closing prayer at each rehearsal and engagement. Send
get well and condolence cards to the sick and bereaved family. Write resolution letters for bereaved families.
Section Leaders – will call members in their section regarding rehearsals and engagements. Retain a list
of each member and their phone number. Will greet and welcome new members to their section. Relay information regarding sickness,
death and leave of absence, etc. to the President, Vice-President and Chaplain.
Sergeant-at-Arm – maintain order at choir rehearsals, engagements and meetings. Should assure that
there is no extraneous talking or activity, which is disruptive. This must be done in a respectful and spiritual way.
